We visited the lutheran church in Bramsche
(a part of the city Lingen) there we found the epithaph of Cord
Grotthaus + 1617 it is a very interesting story about him, because
he was responsible for Die Schlacht im Geehn. 300 farmers were
killed at this fight. |
Two old buildings still exist
on the farmland of Cord Grotthaus + 1617. |
He was married
with a women from the town Grimmersum which
is near to the city of Emden 150 km
north of Bramsche. This lady owned
a castle Mittelburg at the town Groothusen and her
husband Cord Grotthaus got it when married. We found his name and his chrest on the church tower near a very nice clock. |
