1738, Dec 15 - AUGUSTA created from ORANGE; AUGUSTA not fully organized, attached to ORANGE. (Hening, 5:78-80; Robinson, 43)

1773, Oct 11 - WEST AUGUSTA DISTRICT created by Virginia from AUGUSTA. WEST AUGUSTA DISTRICT overlapped territory claimed by Pennsylvania. (Abernethy, 94)

1776, Nov 8 - District of West Augusta was abolished by Virginia upon the creation of MONONGALIA (W.Va.), OHIO (W.Va.) and YOHOGANIA (W.Va.) from West Augusta District and HAMPSHIRE (W.Va.); MONONGALIA, OHIO and YOHOGANIA overlapped territory claimed by Pennsylvania.
