1752, Mar 11 - BERKS created from CUMBERLAND, LANCASTER, PHILADELPHIA, and Non-County Area 1. (Pa. Stat., ch. 392, sec. 1/5:133-134) Greathouse or associated ancestors residing in Heidelberg and Tulpehocken were residents of Lancaster prior to the creation of BERKS in 1752.
1753, Apr 5 - Deed: John Vanhoosen to Derr and Boyer John Vanhousen and wife sold land in Heidelberg prior to moving to Anson County, NC. Jacob and wife, Christian Vanhousen Greathouse, also moved to Anson County, NC, where he bought land on the southwest Pee Dee River in 1758. Christian was named as a daughter in her father, John Vanhousen's will in 1762. A daughter, Christian was born to Jacob and Christian Greathouse in 1762. She later married John Cassels.
