Description: In an Indenture dated 10 Jan 1760 between Christopher Hansel of Upper Saucon and wife Salome of one part and Thomas Owen of the other part, Christopher & Salome Hansel did grant unto Thomas Owen a tract of land in Upper Saucon Township bounded by lands of Valentine Reimer, Jacob Taylor and Christopher Hansel's other land containing 41 acres, 56 perches. Now this Indenture witnesses that Thomas Owen & wife Jane confirm unto William Grothouse the same tract of land containing 41 acres, 56 perches; noting also the yearly quit rent.

This Indenture Made the Twenty Second Day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Three Between Thomas Owen of Upper Saucon Township in the Count of Northampton and Province of Pennsylvania Yeoman and Jane his wife of the one part and William Grothouse of the Same Place Cordwainer of the other Part. Whereas in and by a certain Indenture bearing Date the tenth day of January 1760 Made or Intentioned to be made between Christopher Hansel of Upper Saucon aforesd Yeoman & Solome his wife of the one part and there above named Thomas Owen of the Other Part. They the said Christopher Hansel & Salome his wife for the Consideration in the said Indenture mentioned did grant and convey unto the Said Thomas Owen a Certain Tract of Land Situate in the Township of Upper Saucon as aforesaid bounded and divided as followeth.

Beginning at a Hickory Sapling a Corner of Valentine Reimer's Land and extending thence by the same North East one hundred and one perches to a post or stone

thence by land late of Jacob Taylor South Forty nine degrees East Ninety two Perches to a post a Corner of the said Hansel's other land

thence by the same South Seventy degrees thirty minutes west One Hundred and Nine perches to a post and

North fifty five Degrees West Forty five Perches to the Place of Beginning

Containing Forty one Acres & Fifty Six perches of Land Together with the appurtenances To Hold to him the sd. Thomas Owens his Heirs and Assigns forever as in by the Said unto rented Indenture renting as therein is rented testation being thereunto had doth at large appear Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the Said Thomas Owen & Jane his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of Thirty pounds Lawful Money of Pennsylvania to them in hand paid or Secured to be paid by the said William Grothouse before the Sealing and Delivery hereof the receipt where of the said David Owen & Jane his wife do acknowledge and thereof Do Acquit & for Ever so charge the Said William Grothouse his Heirs & assigns by these present Have Granted bargained sold released confirmed and by thse Presents Do grant Bargain Sell release and confirm unto the Said William Grothouse and to his Heirs & Assigns all the Said described Tract or Parcel of Land Containing Forty One Acres and Fifty Six Perches as aforesaid Together also with all & singular the Buildings, Houses, Improvements Ways Wood Waters Water Courses Easements Right Liberties priviledge Herediments and appurtenances whatsoever there belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversions Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof To have and to Hold the said described Tract or Piece of Land Houses tenements and premises here by Granted or mentioned to be Granted with the appurtenances unto the said William Grothouse his Heirs & Assigns, to the Only proper uses and behoof of the said William Grothaus his Heirs & assigns forever Under the Yearly Quit Rent hereafter accruing for or in respect of the hereby Granted Premises to the Chief Lord or Lords of the ___ thereof And the said Thomas Owen for himself & his Heirs Doth hereby grant Covenant that he and his Heirs the said described Tract or Piece of Land Heredetiments and premises hereby granted or mentioned so to be with the appurtenances unto the Said William Grothouse his Heirs and Assigns Agains him the Said Thomas Owen & his Heirs and against all & every person and persons whatever Lawfully Claiming ____ ____ by or under him them or any of them shall & will Warrant and forever Defend by these presents In witness whereof the Said parties to these present Have interchangeably set their Hands or Seals here unto Dated the Day and Year first above Written.
