1755, Jan 24 - Land: John & Elizabeth Hall to John Van Houser, 200 acres

THIS INDENTURE made the twenty fourth Day of Janry. in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty five Between John Hall and Elizibeth his Wife of the County of Anson in the province of North Carolina of Ye one part & John Vahouser of the County of Anson in the province of North Carolina of the other WITNESSETH that the Sd. John Hall and Eliz. his Wife for & in Consideration of the Sum of Eight lbs. to him in paid by the Sd. John Vanhouser the Receipt whereof he Doth hereby Acknowledge hath Bargained & Sold & by these presents Doth Bargain and Sell unto Sd. John Vanhouser all that Messuage and Tenement Plantation tract or Parcel of Land Situate lying & being in the County of Anson in the Province of North Carolina

Beginning at a Popular on the South Side of Pee Dee below the Alligator Poind

thence No. 58 W. 100 Poles

then South 37 West 320 Poles

then So. 40 E. 100 poles to Pee Dee River

then along Side of the River to the beginning

containing two hundred acres more or less and the Reversion and Reversions Ramainder and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits of the premises and of Every part and Parcel thereof to have and to hold the Sd. Messuage Tenement Plantation tract or parcel of land and all and Singular other the Premises herin mentioned & intended to be herby Bargained and Sold with their and every of their appurtenances unto the Sd. Vanhouser and his heirs Exors. Adminrs. and assigns from the Day before the Date hereof for and During the Term of one Whole Year from thence ensuing and fully to be compleated and Edned YEILDING AND PAYING therefore the yearly Rents of one peper Corn at the feast of St. Michael Ye Arch Angel only if Ye same be then Demanded to the intent by Virtue of these presents and the Statute for transferring uses in Possession Ye Sd. John Vanhouser may be in the actual possession of Ye Premises and be Enabled to accept a grant of the Reversion and Inheritance thereof to him and his heirs and assigns IN WITNESS WHEREOF the Sd. John Hall hath hereunto Set his hand and Affixed his Seal the Day and Year above Written.

1) John & Elizabeth Vanhousen sold land in Heidelberg, Berks County, PA to Derr and Boyer, prior to moving to Anson County, NC, where they purchased land from John & Elizabeth Hall on 23 Jan 1755.

2) Jacob Greathouse married Christian Vanhousen, daughter of John & Elizabeth Vanhousen, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, PA on 12 Aug 1749.

3) On 3 Jan 1744, John Vanhousen was named as one of the executors of the will of Henry Greathouse, in which Jacob Greathouse was named among the children of Henry Greathouse.
